Tek-Sing 1721-1821

Description: Small footed bowl with decoration to the outside, from the Tek-Sing. The Tek Sing was an ocean going junk which set sail from the port of Amoy (now Xiamen in Fuijan province) in 1822. She was so laden with items on deck and lashed to the sides that she almost inevitably sank. She was recovered in 1999 and the treasure was auctioned in Stuttgart in 2000AD. Scholars were very surprised to see that the porcelain part of the treasure was up to 100years old. Every item has the official Tek Sing label adhered, but each piece needs research to establish it's place and date of origin. 10.5cm wide x 4.5cm high. (Tek Sing No. 58)
Condition: V.Good
Price: 46
