Description: A large footed bowl (28cm wide) from the Tek-Sing, an ocean going junk which sailed from the port of Amoy (now Xiamen in Fuijan province) in 1822. It sank due to being vastly overloaded and was salvaged in 1999. The porcelain on board was up to 100 years old and consequently this piece dates between 1721 and 1821. The wear in the middle is due to stacking and the effect of the sea over about 180 years, but the maker's mark is clearly distinguishable. (Tek-Sing 31).
Condition: Good
Price: 195
